There may be several reasons why the digital odometer does not go:
1. Check the soft core of the odometer, that is, the connecting device from the transmission to the odometer. The core in the middle may be broken;
2. If it is removed and there is no damage, check the road code meter gear on the transmission to see if there is any fault. It is from vulnerable parts;
3. If not, you need to change the channel code table. It is likely that the channel code table is stuck at 99999 and cannot carry out the next cycle.
How to check:
(1) Determine whether the sensor or instrument is faulty.
Open the transmitter connector and turn on the ignition switch. The No. 2 electrode connected with the red line on the brown background in the connector is extended with a self-made wire with plug, which makes a virtual scratch on the grounding part of the vehicle body and inputs a pulse signal to the instrument. At this time, if the speedometer pointer rotates, it indicates that the instrument is normal, so the fault occurs on the sensor reed switch tube or magnetic ring. At this time, if the speedometer pointer does not rotate, it indicates that there is a fault in the instrument or connecting circuit, you can continue the next step of fault identification practice shows that the method of making pulse stop number by virtual scratching the wire is effective to determine the location of the fault. Another method can also check the above faults. Raise the left front wheel of the car, turn on the ignition switch, and turn the left front wheel by hand to use the special detection connect or vag1598 / 4 and multimeter to measure the resistance between electrodes 2 and 3 on the sensor connector, which should swing between 0 ~ - n. This method is more troublesome than the previous method.
(2) Judge whether it is instrument or circuit fault
Remove the instrument cluster, do not unplug the plug, and measure the three electrodes on the instrument with a multimeter. Turn on the ignition switch, the voltage to the ground of the live wire from No. 26 fuse to the speedometer power supply shall be 12V, measured with the resistance gear of the multimeter, the resistance of the pulse signal wire from the instrument to the sensor connector shall be zero, and the resistance of the grounding electrode to the ground shall be zero. If the actual measurement is inconsistent with the above three values, the open circuit fault on the line shall be eliminated. If there is no fault on the measured line, it indicates that there is a problem with the speedometer, which shall be repaired or replaced as appropriate. There is also a fault in the speedometer. There is only one work between the speedometer and the odometer. This is because there is a fault in the internal circuit or mechanical part of the speedometer. It can be repaired carefully o r replaced with a new speedometer.
